Electrical Design Engineer

Design Hire is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support electrical design and documentation for industrial and facility-based projects. This role is a strong fit for someone with hands-on AutoCAD experience, strong technical fundamentals, and the ability to develop practical electrical design packages for power and equipment systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop electrical design drawings, layouts, schematics, and construction documentation.
• Support design work involving MCCs, switchgear, power distribution, equipment connections, and related electrical systems.
• Prepare and update AutoCAD drawings based on project requirements, markups, field information, and engineering direction.
• Coordinate electrical design details with internal teams, vendors, and project stakeholders.
• Review drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to support accurate project execution.

Qualifications

• 4 to 8 years of electrical design engineering experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Strong electrical design background in industrial, manufacturing, utility, or facility-based environments.
• Experience with MCCs, switchgear, power distribution, and equipment-related electrical systems.
• AutoCAD experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, schematics, specifications, and technical documents.
• Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple design tasks and follow projects through completion.
