Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate, hands-on Chef to lead culinary execution at Supreme Dumplings Houston. This individual will work side by side with the kitchen team, ensuring every dish meets our established recipes, specifications, and quality standards.

The ideal candidate leads by example, takes pride in their craft, develops their team through hands-on training, and maintains exceptional consistency throughout daily operations.

 

Job Duties

Culinary Execution and Standards

  1. Work alongside kitchen team members during daily preparation, cooking, and service.
  2. Ensure strict adherence to company recipes, specifications, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
  3. Maintain exceptional food quality, consistency, and authenticity across all menu items.
  4. Demonstrate proper culinary techniques and immediately correct deviations from standards.

Leadership and Team Development

  1. Lead by example through active participation in kitchen operations.
  2. Train, coach, and develop team members through hands-on instruction.
  3. Foster a positive kitchen culture built on teamwork, accountability, and craftsmanship.
  4. Partner with restaurant leadership to ensure smooth service and operational excellence.

Kitchen Operations

  1. Oversee daily preparation, production, and kitchen readiness.
  2. Maintain proper inventory levels, product rotation, and ingredient freshness.
  3. Control food waste, portioning, and product utilization.
  4. Support efficient kitchen workflows, productivity, and labor management.
  5. Ensure kitchen equipment and workstations are properly maintained.

Food Safety and Compliance

  1. Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety.
  2. Ensure compliance with health department regulations and company procedures.
  3. Monitor proper food handling, storage, labeling, and temperature controls.
  4. Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready kitchen.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of professional culinary experience preferred.
  • Previous Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Manager experience preferred.
  • Experience with Chinese cuisine, dumplings, or Asian culinary operations strongly preferred.
  • Strong culinary skills and understanding of standardized recipes.
  • Demonstrated ability to train and lead kitchen teams.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Passion for hands-on leadership and culinary excellence.

Job Specific Requirements

  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Texas Certified Food Manager certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Commitment to food safety, consistency, and company standards.
