What This Department Does:

Project Controls is a critical discipline within project management focused on planning, monitoring, and controlling project costs, schedules, and risks. The function provides accurate and timely data to support decision-making, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to scope. Key activities include schedule development and tracking, cost estimating and forecasting, risk management, and performance reporting. Project Controls acts as the project’s financial and schedule watchdog, helping to identify issues early and recommend corrective actions to keep the project on track.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

  • Assist in maintaining and updating project schedules using scheduling software
  • Support cost tracking and budget monitoring activities.
  • Help prepare project status reports, dashboards, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with project managers and project controls professionals to gather and analyze project data.
  • Participate in risk and change management documentation.
  • Assist in data entry, document control, and maintain project records.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the project control’s function.

Qualifications

Education:

Students actively enrolled in a degreed program and attending classes related to Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or a related field with expected graduation date of December 2026- May 2028

What else do you need to know:

 Our internships are temporary full-time positions, in-person at our Houston office. We will host our Summer 2027 interns from May-August for 10 weeks. 

 Compensation And Other Benefits

  • Pay Range $21.09-$37.09 USD Hourly
  • The final pay for this role will depend on a variety of factors, including a specific candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and working location. The total compensation package for this role may also include; paid time off, a housing stipend, and more.

The fine print:

Compensation: Compensation ranges are provided in good faith based on what we anticipate when researching wages for this position at the state and national levels.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.  This salary range may also be modified in the future.
