P&C Designer III

Saber Power Services, a portfolio company of Greenbelt Capital Partners, is a fully integrated electrical power system services firm providing end-to-end solutions across utility, renewables and battery storage, industrial, petrochemical, and other markets.  Based in Houston, Texas, Saber Power offers deep subject matter expertise and uses an engineering-led approach to designing, installing, testing, and maintaining medium and high-voltage electrical infrastructure. Saber serves clients locally, nationally, and abroad.

Saber Power Services seeks a P&C Designer III with an average minimum of eight years’ experience in electrical system design.  Services include minimally supervised coordination of drafting team with electrical design supervision.  Position requires technical and administrative supervision

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Applies principles and techniques of acquired experience to accomplish tasks
• Provides guidance to draftsmen
• Electrical Schematic Diagrams (AC/DC): Develops three-line diagrams and detailed AC/DC schematics, including current and potential circuits, protective relaying, control systems, and alarm systems
• Wiring Diagrams: Produces point-to-point wiring diagrams, terminal block layouts, and equipment wiring diagrams
• Calculates, quantifies, specifies, and controls quality of material
• Provides adaptations to common designs
• Understands common industry practices
• Works effectively in a team environment
• Reports to team supervisor
• Perform other job-related duties as requested by management.

Qualifications:

• Two-year associate degree or equivalent level of experience
• 8 years’ experience
• Responsive and adaptive to ad hoc work tasks
• Basic understanding of power system protection and control systems
• Efficient mechanical design capabilities
• Applies common practices to designs
• Understands constructability of design
• Understands field concepts, practices, and procedures
• Proficient in AutoCAD or MicroStation.  Knowledge of both is an advantage
• Knowledge of good drafting practices
• Skills:
