Job DetailsJob Location: Houston, TX 77041A specialized engineer responsible for the development, implementation and continuous improvement of all necessary equipment, tools, documentation, training and processes required for successful execution by the quality department. Responsible for supporting the administration of the Quality Management System.   DESCRIPTION Ensures compliance regarding Quality management system for all activities related to the processes. Lead and coach projects to improve product quality through development of targeted, impactful and sustainable improvements in plant operations Utilize Root Cause Analysis tools in nonconformance investigations and corrective action development. Partner with Innovation team to introduce new products into the plant and qualify new raw materials. Perform daily verifications of manufacturing procedures. Perform special tasks or assignments as needed for the department including production tests, data collection, upstream process evaluation. Implement visual tools including 5S, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Statistical Process Controls (SPC) monitoring, and performance metric tracking. Train personnel in continuous improvement and develop and implement operational training materials. Participate in the creation and standardization of job instructions. Lead/participate in scrap reduction teams.   COMPETENCIES Strong communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal, influencing and management skills Proven leadership abilities, including strong influencing skills Strong project management skills and multi-functional team leadership Strong quantitative and analytical skills Knowledge of CI, RCA and CA methodologies. Knowledge of ISO 9001 Process oriented Perseverance and leadership to finish projects and drive for results   EXPERIENCE 2 + years experience in process or quality engineering Bachelor’s Degree in industrial, chemical or mechanical engineering. Experience with plastics is desirable.   KEY DELIVERABLES TO DEMONSTRATE SUCCESS IN 12 MONTHS: Drive sustainable improvements in the plant operations Develop and implement basic SOPs for line operation resulting in improved yield and reduced operational downtime Work with process specialist to develop and implement training program on new SOPs Manage QMS as a tool to deliver sustainable improvements in plant operations; assist in building culture of continuous improvement Modify existing QMS to make it more user friendly and available to operators on line. Develop and implement program to ensure quality issues RCA and CA are communicated across all shifts Utilize statistical tools when analyzing data, including improvement tracking
