The Senior Mechanical Designer leads the mechanical design and development of complex electro-mechanical systems, with a focus on enclosures, structural assemblies, and integrated equipment packages for electrical power and control systems. Detailed DescriptionÂ
Lead the mechanical design of electrical enclosures, skids, frames, and structural assemblies for power and control systemsÂ
Develop and oversee detailed 3D models, fabrication drawings, and assembly documentation using CAD softwareÂ
Perform mechanical analysis and design validation including structural integrity, thermal performance, vibration, and environmental exposureÂ
Ensure designs meet applicable industry standards, customer specifications, and internal requirementsÂ
Define and maintain mechanical design standards including drawings, part numbering, and bill of materials structureÂ
Collaborate with Electrical Engineers to ensure proper component layout, routing, access, and serviceabilityÂ
Interface with fabrication and shop personnel to ensure designs are practical and manufacturableÂ
Support procurement through vendor selection assistance and technical evaluationsÂ
Participate in design reviews, project planning, and problem resolutionÂ
Provide technical mentorship to junior designers and draftersÂ
Support prototype development, testing, and field modificationsÂ

Job RequirementsÂ
Advanced proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or similarÂ
Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, fabrication, and assembly processesÂ
Ability to develop and interpret complex mechanical drawings and technical documentationÂ
Experience designing enclosures, structural systems, or integrated equipment packagesÂ
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independentlyÂ
Effective collaboration and communication skills in cross-functional environmentsÂ
Minimum QualificationsÂ
Associate degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Design, Drafting, or related fieldÂ
Minimum of nine years of experience in mechanical design and 3D modeling in an industrial, manufacturing, or oilfield environmentÂ
Preferred CertificationsÂ
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplineÂ
Experience with electrical equipment such as switchgear, MCCs, and control panelsÂ
Knowledge of NEC requirements related to mechanical designÂ
Proven experience acting as a technical lead on complex projectsÂ

This role is primarily office-based with regular interaction in shop and fabrication environments. Occasional lifting, standing, and walkthroughs are required. The position may involve exposure to noise, dust, and equipment, and adherence to PPE and safety requirements is mandatory.Â
