Description

The Powder Coat Painter is primarily responsible for spray painting. This includes verifying work orders for coating requirements.


Essential Job Responsibilities not limited to:

  • Preparing: Pretreating, cleaning, masking, and priming parts
  • Applying: Spraying powder coat onto surfaces
  • Inspecting: Performing quality checks, including first piece, in-process, and final inspections
  • Maintaining: Adjusting sprayer valves and nozzles, and maintaining and organizing the powder storage room
  • Other: Loading and unloading parts, changing hanging patterns onto the carts. Then moving carts in and out of the oven

Requirements

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings
  • Basic math knowledge which includes the use of measuring tools
  • Familiar with mixing process of paint colors
  • Operate a forklift

Competencies

  • Ability to work in an environment that produces excellent quality and quantity work
  • Ability to organize and prioritize jobs
  • Ability to communicate – verbally and written

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Able to lift, push, and pull 25 pounds unassisted
  • Typical machine shop environment.
  • Willing and able to work additional hours as needed to ensure responsibilities are met.
  • Willing to be cross trained on different machines

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Shop experience spray painting
  • Experience in disassembling spray gun and cleaning out lines, operating forklift and overhead crane
