Job DetailsJob Location: Houston, TX 77046Weinstein Spira's unique rotational internship program offers the opportunity to gain valuable professional accounting experience in both tax and audit. Internships last 8 to 12 weeks, depending on the student's schedule and availability, and are split evenly between tax and audit assignments.  During the tax portion of your internship, you will spend time in our corporate office preparing basic tax returns under the supervision and guidance of a senior tax preparer. You will learn to use professional tax preparation software and become familiar with applicable tax laws and regulations.  During the audit portion of your internship, you will be assigned to one of our audit teams at a client location and participate in two or more financial plan audits or employee benefit plan audits. You will become familiar with professional standards and assist staff auditors with specific audit functions.  In addition to hands-on accounting experience, interns will contribute to a published article for the Weinstein Spira website. Working alongside firm professionals, interns will develop content on topics relevant to students, career development, and the accounting profession. This opportunity allows interns to strengthen their professional writing and communication skills while sharing their unique perspectives with future candidates and readers.  At Weinstein Spira, we believe that Relationships Count. QualificationsQualifications  Currently enrolled in a BBA program with a major in Accounting, MPA program, or PPA program  Minimum 3.0 GPA; 3.50 GPA preferred  Demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in public accounting  Ability to work both independently and as part of a team  Excellent written and verbal communication skills  Legally authorized to work in the United States
