Warehouse Clerk

Job description:

• Unload goods and check them against order forms.
• Place goods in bins or on racks, stack bulky items on floors etc. and label items with storage details
• Move heavy packages using the forklift machinery
• Obtain details of the location and quantity of items in stock, using visual display units or computers
• Enter Details of received delivery slips, requisitions and invoices into computers
• Count and records the number of items in the warehouse stock during stock take or inventory
• Advise supervisor on stock and re-ordering levels
• Help keep the work area neat and tidy
• Maintain computer records of data such as who performed repairs, assignments, requirements and authorizations
• Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors
• Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
• Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.
• Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.
• Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
