What you will be doing: - Provide individualized and specialized instruction based on each student's learning needs.
- Develop and implement appropriate instructional strategies, activities, and academic goals.
- Adapt curriculum, materials, and teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Support students in developing academic, organizational, social, and functional skills.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on performance and individual needs.
- Collaborate with therapists, parents, administrators, and other educational professionals.
- Maintain accurate student records, progress documentation, and required educational paperwork.
- Participate in evaluations, observations, and development of individualized student support plans.
- Create a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment.
- Help students build confidence, independence, and the skills necessary for long-term success.
Experience you will need: - Current NYS General Education or Special Education teaching certification, as applicable.
- Experience working with students with disabilities or diverse learning needs.
- Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to develop engaging lessons and adapt instruction to student needs.
