Dental Assistant

Description

LINE OF RESPONSIBILITY: The Dental Assistant is under the direct supervision of the attending Dentist, and otherwise reports to the Dental Practice Manager.

PURPOSE:  To provide, with the Dentist, four-handed assistance, and the dental staff with quality care for patients.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Clinical assisting.
• Taking      radiographs.
• Maintaining      instruments and machinery.
• Proper      cleaning and sterilization of instruments and handpieces.
• Be      current on new requirements for sterilization and maintenance.
• Inventory      supplies.
• Maintaining      stocked dental supplies.
• Accompany      patients to/from waiting area.
• Other      duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Water      line maintenance and flushing as needed.
• Operatory      infection control
• Utilize      patient mouth rinse prior to any procedures.
• Verify      patient’s medications and health history, advise dentist.

Requirements

• MA Dental Assisting License, Radiology certification or course that meets MA requirements
• Ability to travel between multiple organizational locations as needed
• Availability for this position is at our Worthington and Huntington sites
