Registration Specialist - Cardiology Clinic

Monday - Friday | 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (Onsite)
No weekends or major holidays
About the Role
Join a fast-paced cardiology clinic that serves approximately 150 patients daily. As a Registration Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for patients and play a vital role in ensuring a positive patient experience. You will support registration, scheduling, check-in/check-out, insurance verification, and customer service functions that help keep clinic operations running smoothly while supporting timely patient care and accurate reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities
- Register patients and maintain accurate demographic and insurance information
- Verify insurance coverage and eligibility
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow
- Check patients in and out efficiently and accurately
- Collect payments and explain charges and clinic policies as needed
- Collaborate closely with medical assistants, nurses, and providers to support clinic operations
- Ensure accurate documentation to maximize reimbursement and support positive clinical outcomes
What Success Looks Like
Within 3 Months
- Independently perform patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and check-in/check-out processes with minimal assistance
- Maintain accurate patient demographic and insurance information
Within 6 Months
- Consistently maintain a high level of registration accuracy
- Reduce registration-related errors
- Proactively identify and resolve scheduling and registration issues to support efficient patient flow
Within 12 Months
- Become a trusted resource for registration processes within the cardiology clinic
- Demonstrate expertise in clinic workflows and patient access operations

Training & Onboarding
- Five days of virtual training
- 4-6 weeks of hands-on training with an experienced front-office team member
- Additional training time provided as needed to ensure confidence across all registration functions

Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED is required.
- Prefer relevant experience in a health care setting.  Â
- Requires ability to interpret insurance information; knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology preferred.
Manage patient check-in and check-out processesÂ
Provide excellent customer service through patient and provider interactionsÂ
- Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
