Mace North America is seeking a talented Cost Consultant for life science and industrial manufacturing projects.聽In this pivotal role you鈥檒l have the opportunity to work directly with clients delivering iconic major capital projects.

Note: This role has an on-site minimum of 3 days per week. Work is primarily conducted on an active construction site with heavy equipment and machinery. In addition to other essential functions, applicants will generally need to be able to perform the following essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodation:

Lift and carry a minimum of 25lbs.
Walk and stand extensively throughout each shift, often walking more than 5 miles a day.
Climb and walk on scaffolding.

You鈥檒l Be Responsible For:

  • Managing all aspects of cost planning, including ownership of and presentation of cost plans to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Managing the procurement process, ensuring stages including prequalification, enquiry, analysis, selection and contract preparation are performed effectively.
  • Supporting the delivery of cost management services to delivery key strategic outcomes and KPIs, directly influencing strategic development of plans.
  • Serving as a client-facing senior cost consultant lead who assists with strategic, tactical, and technical advice.
  • Managing and growing cost management teams or accounts.
  • Interfacing with clients, external and internal consultants at all project stages.
  • Conducting feasibility studies and produce procurement reports.
  • Producing ROMs for new and pipeline projects for a project budget to be based on.
  • Day to day cost management of medium-large scale client projects including procurement, pay requests, change management and cost reporting.
  • Applying value management techniques at the outset of a project involving existing protocols and systems.
  • Managing, estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership and presenting the final cost plan.
  • Managing the procurement process, ensuring that all stages including, pre-qualification, enquiry, evaluation, selection and contract preparation are performed effectively.
  • Ensuring post contract cost variances, change control, cost checking and valuation processes are managed effectively.
  • Ensuring the production of monthly post contract and cost reports and present them to the client.
  • Providing value engineering life cycle costing.
  • Managing the final account negotiation and agreement.
  • Updating benchmarking efforts as new projects are executed to provide real cost data to client.

You鈥檒l Need To Have:聽

  • Degree in construction management, engineering, quantity surveying or related field (MS, MBA preferred).
  • Professional membership i.e. MRICS/RICS (or equivalent) and moving towards fellowship, or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal and presentation) skills, along with the ability to assure service delivery and provide meaningful/actional insights.
  • Knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law and contractual frameworks relating to construction.
  • Experience in managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience working in a cost management role in the construction industry.
  • Experience in pharma/life science sector or other similar manufacturing.
  • Experience leading cost management on large-sized construction projects of medium to high complexity.
  • Oracle Unifier or other project management system.
