- Location:Â InfoZone at the Children's MuseumÂ
- Hours: Full-Time
- Schedule:Â Varies, but will include day, evenings, and weekend hours, including at least 6 Sundays per yearÂ
- Starting Hourly Rate:Â $18.70
- FLSA Status: Non-Exempt  Â

A successful candidate will… Â
- Associate’s or Library Technical Assistant Degree  Â
- Indiana State Librarian Certificate 5 – Professional Assistant; or working towards certification Â
- Be available to work day, evening, and weekend hours - including at least 6 Sundays per year. Â
- Be able to navigate basic computer functions, including Microsoft Word, Excel, internet browsing. Â Â
- Be bilingual (preferred but not required). Â
What does the job look like? Â
-  Assists patrons with various library services, including finding library materials, recommending titles, locating library materials at other branches, placing requests and referring to other community resources. Â
- Provides quick reference and in-depth reference assistance and research to patrons, referring certain subject-specific reference questions to Librarians assigned to those collections. Â Â
- Provides assistance and instruction to patrons in using computers, IndyPL website, downloadable services, databases, online catalog, printers and other equipment. Troubleshoots a wide variety of technical issues with computers, mobile devices, digital services and other office equipment. Â Â
- Develops, promotes, and presents programming both within the branch and in the community served. Â Â
- Assists with collection management activities including wanding, CollectionHQ reports, weeding and general maintenance as assigned. Sorts and shelves materials as needed. Evaluates materials for condition and usefulness and discards accordingly. Â
- Creates and maintains displays and promotional materials as needed. Â Â
- Records and reports statistics related to tasks including reference assistance, use of materials, program attendance and community contacts. Â
- Informs patrons of library policies and procedures; observes patron activity. Â
- Creates monthly and quarterly book reviews and lists for Bibliocommons. Â Â
- Able to work the normally scheduled work time for this position. Â
- Able to cope with daily job-related stress. Â Â
