Top Responsibilities

  • Facilitate patient flow from check-in through check-out in a timely, professional manner.
  • Verify insurance coverage and maintain accurate patient demographic information.
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient registration activities.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Answer incoming calls and direct patients and visitors appropriately.
  • Collect and validate information to support accurate billing, reimbursement, and clinical outcomes.
  • Explain department policies, charges, and payment requirements to patients.

  • Strong ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Excellent multitasking, customer service, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Onboarding and Training

New hires will participate in approximately one month of structured onboarding, including:

  • Cerner training
  • Scheduling process training
  • Web-based learning modules
  • Oracle system training
  • Department-specific workflows and procedures

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Ability to learn and retain medical coding; ICD-10; CPT coding preferred.
  • Requires ability to interpret insurance information; knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology preferred.
