Licensed Practical Nurse - OBGYN (50%25) (Washington, IA)

University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking a 50%25 Licensed Practical Nurse to work in our Washington OBGYN Clinic.

Duties to include:

• Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
• Participates in the development of nursing care plans and in the implementation of therapeutic program for patients.
• In less complex situations, may assume responsibility for directing and supervising assigned nursing personnel. In more complex situations, performs as an assistant to the registered professional nurse.
• Performs patient care related to vital signs, lab draws, setting up and assisting with minor procedures, in-clinic treatments, point of care testing and other duties as assigned.
• Provides psychological support to the patient and family based on assessed needs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Percent of Time: 50%25 (20 hrs/week)
Salary: Merit Plan Plan
Schedule: Tues/Wed/Thurs, 8:00am-5:00pm (1 hr lunch) with the rotating schedule.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

• Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing, or eligible for temporary work permit. Responsible to take the required continuing education hours to maintain a valid LPN certification.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification
