Quality Assurance Supervisor

Join our team as a Quality Assurance Supervisor and take ownership of food safety and quality across a fast-paced seasoning production facility! In this role, you'll lead a team of QA technicians, keep production running with real-time quality checks, and help drive a culture where food safety and continuous improvement come first. What You'll Do

Daily QA Operations

  • Supervise QA technicians and coordinate daily quality checks across production lines, batching, blending, and packaging operations
  • Monitor CCPs, CPs, sanitation, allergen control, and other food safety metrics
  • Perform line audits, pre-op inspections, environmental checks, and lot verifications
  • Ensure timely completion and accuracy of all QA documentation, batch records, and testing logs

Food Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to HACCP, GMPs, SQF/BRC, FDA regulations, and company food safety programs
  • Support the maintenance of food safety plans, validation studies, and quality manuals
  • Participate in internal and external audits; assist with corrective action development and follow-up
  • Verify allergen segregation, label accuracy, metal detection, and traceability procedures

Testing & Product Evaluation

  • Oversee physical, chemical, and sensory testing of ingredients and finished seasonings
  • Coordinate hold-and-release programs for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
  • Investigate out-of-spec results and assist with root-cause analysis
  • Partner with R&D and Production on product trials, scale-ups, and new formulations

Training & Team Leadership

  • Train QA technicians and production staff on food safety, GMPs, quality procedures, and documentation accuracy
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and scheduling for QA team members
  • Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across the facility

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, and Supply Chain leaders to address quality concerns
  • Assist with customer complaint investigations and corrective action documentation
  • Communicate quality trends and issues to leadership, offering recommendations for improvement

What You Bring

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted
  • 2–4+ years of QA experience in food manufacturing, spices/seasonings, or CPG production
  • Previous supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with HACCP, SQF/BRC, FSMA, GMPs, and FDA regulations

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and strong documentation habits
  • Ability to analyze data, solve problems, and identify process improvements
  • Knowledge of food safety testing equipment and quality systems
