Office & HR Manager
Sea Pointe Design & Remodel · Irvine, CA · Full-time, on-site
$75,000–$90,000 salary, depending on experience
Sea Pointe Design & Remodel has been a design-build remodeling firm in Orange County since 1986. Design and construction happen under one roof, and more than half of our work comes from referrals. Behind every finished kitchen and whole-home remodel is a team that needs to be hired well, supported well, and set up to do its best work. That’s this role.
We’re looking for an Office & HR Manager who wants to own HR and operations rather than a single slice of them. You’ll be the person employees come to with questions and the partner managers lean on for hiring and people issues. You’ll also keep our offices, showroom, and systems ready for work every day. You’ll report to our Director of Finance & Accounting and work closely with our President and leadership team.
What You’ll Do
People and HR
- Employee relations: coach managers on feedback and documentation, conduct workplace investigations, and resolve concerns fairly and confidentially
- Full-cycle recruiting with hiring managers: write and post openings, screen candidates, coordinate interviews and assessments, run reference and background checks, and prepare offers
- Onboarding and offboarding, so new hires have paperwork, workspace, equipment, and system access ready on day one
- Personnel records in BambooHR, kept accurate, confidential, and audit-ready
- Benefits and 401(k) administration with our outside vendors, including enrollments, changes, COBRA, and open enrollment
- Leave tracking and documentation (FMLA, CFRA, PDL, and other protected leaves), partnering with the Director of Finance & Accounting on decisions
- Compliance basics: labor law postings, required trainings such as Sexual Harassment Prevention and Workplace Violence Prevention, injury and illness prevention documentation, and the annual workers’ compensation audit
- The review cycle: 90-day and annual review reminders, completion tracking, and compensation summaries prepared with Finance
- The Employee Handbook and HR policies: keep them current with California law, recommend changes, and roll them out once approved
Offices and Facilities
- Day-to-day operations for both office suites and our Irvine showroom: clean, stocked, organized, and ready for clients
- Vendors for janitorial, maintenance, repairs, printers, and supplies, with spending kept within budget
- Building management, keys, door access, and emergency procedures
- Vendor contracts and renewals, plus certificates of insurance, licenses, and W-9s
Systems and Technology
- In-house administrator for Microsoft 365, BambooHR, JobTread, and Pipedrive: user accounts, permissions, and MFA for new hires and departures
- First point of contact for everyday tech issues and our liaison to our managed IT provider
- Inventory of computers, phones, and accessories, plus software licenses and renewals
Payroll and Finance Support
- Import field hours from JobTread into BambooHR each pay cycle to keep PTO accruals accurate
- Keep employee data consistent between BambooHR and payroll
- Code office invoices and reconcile office purchases on the company card
Culture
- Support our Fun Committee, recognition moments, company announcements, and employee surveys
What You Bring
- 5+ years in HR and office management, ideally in a role where you owned both
- Working knowledge of California employment law, including leave, wage and hour, required trainings, and postings
- Experience handling employee relations and investigations with sound judgment and discretion
- Experience with BambooHR or a similar HRIS
- Strong Microsoft 365 skills (Excel and Outlook), including managing user accounts and permissions. We’ll train you on JobTread, Pipedrive, and our door access system.
- Strong organization, follow-through, and written communication
Construction, design, or professional services experience is a strong plus. So are a SHRM-CP, PHR, or HR certificate, and being bilingual in English and Spanish, which helps you support our field team with benefits and onboarding.
