Responsible for performing analysis (chemistry, food technology and/or microbiology) for the raw/packaging materials and finished products from all the Mission Foods Plants. Operates or directs the operation of central lab equipment to ensure compliance to specifications. Generates reports based on the results from the Central Laboratory and from the External Laboratories. Protect the brand(s) ensuring the compliance to regulatory requirements.

 

    • Operates or directs the operation of lab equipment or apparatus in the performance of tests or experiments. 
    • Performs wheat flour analysis in flour received from all the Mission Foods facilities.
    • Responsible for the calibration of equipment used.
    • Interprets the results and submit reports.
    • Develops Regulatory and Technical Data Sheets.
    • Makes final reports and presentations and generates accurate data.
    • Makes conclusions and recommendations.
    • Makes presentations.
    • Implements the techniques and methods for Product evaluation.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in food science and technology, Chemistry, Cereal Science or closely related field or its equivalent. 1 to 3 years of experience working in a laboratory / quality field in the food industry.

Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above.

    • Knowledge and understanding of statistics related to data obtained.
    • Able to assign, plan, manage, and prioritize projects.
    • High level of technical competency in a food scientific/technical aspect. Knowledge in corn process and products.
    • Excellent skills in the interpretation of data obtained from experimental results.
