SUMMARY

The DOT Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day management of electronic logging device (ELD) operations and DOT-related compliance processes. This role serves as the primary administrator for Samsara and supports DOT onboarding for non-CDL drivers, ensuring accurate records, timely follow-up, and ongoing compliance with applicable regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Serve as the primary administrator for the Samsara platform across all organizations
  • Review and resolve unassigned driving time
  • Monitor Hours of Service (HOS) violations and identify trends
  • Assign and track driver coaching related to HOS, safety events, and policy violations
  • Monitor camera events and safety-related alerts as required
  • Maintain driver profiles, vehicle assignments, and organizational structure within Samsara
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across ELD records

DOT COMPLIANCE SUPPORT

  • Assist with DOT onboarding for non-CDL drivers
  • Send and track DocuSign onboarding packets
  • Coordinate pre-employment drug testing for non-CDL CMV drivers
  • Create and maintain non-CDL CMV driver qualification files
  • Audit files for completeness and compliance
  • Identify missing or expired documentation and coordinate corrective actions 

REPORTING

  • Communicate compliance issues, trends, and risks to the Compliance Manager
  • Support internal audits and external reviews as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee, safety, and compliance data

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Samsara or other ELD platforms
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations, HOS requirements, or transportation compliance
  • Experience supporting onboarding or compliance processes in a regulated environment (Preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Experience with compliance systems, data management, or regulated recordkeeping
  • Ability to work independently and manage recurring compliance tasks
  • Proficiency with digital platforms and document management systems
