Senior AI Engineer

Cognizant’s Digital Engineering practice is seeking a highly qualified Senior AI  Engineer with experience developing and building high-performing, scalable, enterprise applications. You will be part of a digital software team that works on high-demand applications. Our engineers have a passion for high-quality, reliable and maintainable code. You will work side by side with product managers, designers, and clients, making decisions together in order to quickly deliver valuable working software to clients and their users. Responsibilities
•Lead the AI-PDLC: Drive the lifecycle from initial research and grounding to production-scale agent deployment.
•Spec-Driven Implementation: Author and maintain high-fidelity specifications that drive autonomous Agent-to-Agent (A2A) workflows.
•XP Mentorship: Champion AI-Pair Programming and AI-TDD, raising the "AI IQ" of the entire development organization.
•Architecture & Orchestration: Design complex multi-agent systems using LangChain and CrewAI, ensuring seamless integration with enterprise Java/Spring backends.
•Context & Dataset Engineering: Manage the retrieval architecture (MCP) and grounding datasets to ensure low-hallucination, high-accuracy outputs.

Qualifications
•Core: Java 17+, Spring Boot, Spring AI.
•AI Platforms: Google Vertex AI, Model Garden, and Agent Builder.
•Frameworks: LangChain, CrewAI, and ADK/SDKs for agentic development.
•Tools: GitHub Copilot, MCP (Model Context Protocol), Vector Databases (e.g., Pinecone or Vertex Vector Search).
