BizFirst is assisting our clientwith recruiting a skilled and experienced Cloud Software Engineer. Thisposition supports the following program: an enterprise engineering program thatsupports signals intelligence (SIGINT) mission systems through cloud infrastructure,AI/ML-driven software, and modernization of data dissemination processes for anIntelligence Community customer. The position is onsite at Fort Meade, MD, andthe role is open now for an immediate start.
Our client is a Service-DisabledVeteran-Owned Small Business that has supported U.S. defense and intelligencemissions since 2012. Its systems, software, and data science engineers workside by side with government teams to model, design, integrate, and deploycomplex mission systems, and the company also builds rugged RF hardware forspecialized SIGINT applications. Led by a U.S. Navy veteran with more than 30years of DoD mission experience, the company supports programs alongside manyof the largest national security integrators and has a long-establishedpresence in Maryland near Fort Meade.
What will you do
Build and enhance software forintelligence mission systems while designing and managing the cloudinfrastructure it runs on. You will develop, maintain, and enhance complexsoftware systems to documented requirements, review and test components againstdesign requirements, and help decide when commercial or governmentoff-the-shelf (COTS/GOTS) products should replace new development. You willanalyze usage and work processes to find and fix problem areas, and design,deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure using OpenStack and comparableplatforms. This role suits an experienced software engineer with strong Linux,scripting, and Python skills and hands-on private cloud experience.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diversesoftware systems based on documented requirements.
- Review and test software components for adherence todesign requirements, and document test results.
- Provide design decision support on using COTS and GOTSproducts in place of new development.
- Analyze usage and work processes, and investigateproblem areas.
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure usingOpenStack and comparable platforms.
- Automate tasks on Linux with Bash, shell, and Pythonscripts.
Requirements:
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or ComputerScience and twelve (12) years of software engineering experience. Sixteen (16)years of software engineering experience may substitute for the degree.
- Experience designing, deploying, and managing cloudinfrastructure using OpenStack and other comparable platforms.
- Experience developing, maintaining, and enhancingcomplex software systems based on documented requirements.
- Experience reviewing and testing software componentsand documenting test results.
- Proficiency with the Linux/Unix command line andscripting (Bash, shell).
- Python programming skills.
- Solid understanding of cloud technologies.
- Ability to work onsite at Fort Meade, MD.
Desired Skills
- AWS or Azure certification.
- Experience working in a DevOps environment with CI/CDpipelines.
- Experience building or operating cloud environments forIntelligence Community or DoD customers.
