BizFirst is assisting our clientwith recruiting a skilled and experienced Full-Stack Software Engineer. Thisposition supports the following program: a signals intelligence (SIGINT)mission support program that provides collection systems engineering, targetdevelopment, analysis, reporting, and mission software development for anIntelligence Community customer. The position is onsite at Fort Meade, MD, andthe role is open now for an immediate start.

Our client is a Service-DisabledVeteran-Owned Small Business that has supported U.S. defense and intelligencemissions since 2012. Its systems, software, and data science engineers workside by side with government teams to model, design, integrate, and deploycomplex mission systems, and the company also builds rugged RF hardware forspecialized SIGINT applications. Led by a U.S. Navy veteran with more than 30years of DoD mission experience, the company supports programs alongside manyof the largest national security integrators and has a long-establishedpresence in Maryland near Fort Meade.

What will you do

Build full-stack capabilitiesfor an intelligence mission team, pairing responsive user interfaces withscalable Spring Boot services that deploy to cloud environments. You will workwith product owners, testers, and fellow developers to define UI requirements,design RESTful APIs, connect front-end applications to backend services, andtune performance on both the client and server sides. You will take part in thefull software lifecycle, from planning and design through testing, deployment,and ongoing support. This role suits a seasoned Java engineer who is equallycomfortable in Spring Boot and a modern JavaScript framework, and who enjoysbuilding tools that mission users rely on every day.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and build highly responsive user interfacecomponents that meet mission user needs.
  • Build and maintain robust, scalable backend APIs andservices with Spring Boot, following RESTful principles.
  • Integrate front-end applications with backend services,ensuring efficient data flow and secure communication.
  • Work with product owners, testers, and other developersto define UI requirements and integrate with other system services.
  • Support the deployment of cloud-enabled services.
  • Find and resolve performance bottlenecks on both theclient and server sides to improve speed and scalability.
  • Contribute across the full software developmentlifecycle, including planning, design, development, testing, deployment, andsupport.
  • Track work and document designs in Jira and Confluence,SharePoint, or similar tools.

Requirements:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or ComputerEngineering and fourteen (14) years of software engineering experience.Eighteen (18) years of software engineering experience may substitute for thedegree.
  • Full-stack experience that includes both front-endUI/UX design and development and back-end service development.
  • Strong Java skills, including Spring Core, Spring MVC,and Spring Boot (including Spring Boot UI development).
  • Front-end development with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript,plus at least one modern JavaScript framework such as React, Angular, orVue.js.
  • Solid grasp of UI/UX principles and microservicesprinciples.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platformenvironments, and familiarity with Docker and/or Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency with the Linux/Unix command line andWindows environments.
  • Experience with Jira and with Confluence, SharePoint,or similar collaboration tools.
  • Ability to work onsite at Fort Meade, MD.

Desired Skills

  • Experience delivering software for IntelligenceCommunity or DoD mission systems.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git-baseddevelopment workflows.
  • Experience working on Agile/Scrum development teams.
