Solaris & Linux System Administrator

CDIT Solutionsis seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Solaris & Linux SystemAdministrator to join an IT infrastructure team supporting a federal customerenvironment. The ideal candidate brings strong experience managing enterpriseSolaris and Linux environments, with hands-on expertise across storage, backup,security, and patching systems.

This rolerequires practical knowledge of the Solaris operating system, IBM EnterpriseStorage, Veritas NetBackup, and vulnerability management tooling, as well as asolid grasp of system hardening and package management disciplines.

KeyResponsibilities

•   Administer, maintain, and optimize Solaris and Linuxsystems in a production environment.

•   Manage and support IBM Enterprise Storage solutions toensure high availability and performance.

•   Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Veritas NetBackupfor enterprise backup and recovery operations.

•   Perform system patching and package management usingYUM repositories.

•   Execute and remediate vulnerability scans using Nessusto maintain compliance with security standards.

•   Support and maintain STE/STIN processes andenvironments per organizational standards.

•   Implement and maintain system security configurations,including NSF frameworks and policies.

•   Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, andimplement proactive improvements.

•   Collaborate with cross-functional teams oninfrastructure upgrades, audits, and incident response.

•   Maintain documentation for system configurations,procedures, and compliance requirements.

RequiredQualifications

•   Active DoD TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph(FSP).

•   Active CompTIA Security+ certification.

•   Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, InformationTechnology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

•   3+ years of hands-on Solaris System Administrationexperience.

•   3+ years of hands-on System Administration experience(OLVM, RHEL, CentOS, or similar).

•   Experience with IBM Enterprise Storage systems.

•   Strong knowledge of Veritas NetBackup administration.

•   Experience with Nessus vulnerability scanning andremediation workflows.

•   Proficiency with YUM package management and patchingstrategies.

•   Familiarity with STE/STIN processes and NSF-relatedsecurity frameworks.

•   Solid understanding of Linux security, systemhardening, and compliance practices.

•   Strong troubleshooting and scripting skills (Bash,Python, or similar).

PreferredQualifications

•   Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) orequivalent certification.

•   Experience in enterprise environments with highavailability and disaster recovery requirements.

•   Familiarity with automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, orsimilar).

•   Exposure to cloud or hybrid infrastructureenvironments.
