BizFirst is assisting our clientwith recruiting a skilled and experienced System Administrator. This positionsupports the following program: a mission application development and cloudoperations program that builds, deploys, and supports web applications,databases, and AWS cloud infrastructure for an Intelligence Community customer.The position is onsite at Fort Meade, MD, and the role is open now for animmediate start.
Our client is a Service-DisabledVeteran-Owned Small Business that has supported U.S. defense and intelligencemissions since 2012. Its systems, software, and data science engineers workside by side with government teams to model, design, integrate, and deploycomplex mission systems, and the company also builds rugged RF hardware forspecialized SIGINT applications. Led by a U.S. Navy veteran with more than 30years of DoD mission experience, the company supports programs alongside manyof the largest national security integrators and has a long-establishedpresence in Maryland near Fort Meade.
What will you do
Run and support the IT and AWScloud infrastructure behind an intelligence mission program. You willimplement, maintain, and troubleshoot IT systems, manage AWS infrastructure ina DevOps environment using Terraform and Ansible, and handle day-to-day operations,monitoring, and problem resolution across client, server, storage, network, andmobile devices. You will also provide Tier 1 (help desk) and Tier 2(escalation) support. This role suits a seasoned Linux system administrator whomanages infrastructure as code and takes ownership of keeping users productive.
Responsibilities:
- Implement, troubleshoot, and maintain IT systems.
- Manage AWS cloud infrastructure and related processesin a DevOps environment.
- Provision and configure infrastructure with Terraformand Ansible.
- Manage AWS services, including Amazon Elastic ContainerRegistry (ECR).
- Handle day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problemresolution for client, server, storage, network, and mobile devices.
- Provide Tier 1 (help desk) and Tier 2 (escalation)problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
- Automate administrative tasks with Bash, shell, orPython scripts.
Requirements:
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree in Communication Engineering,Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or InformationSystems and ten (10) years of system administration experience. Fifteen (15)years of system administration experience may substitute for the degree.
- Experience implementing, troubleshooting, andmaintaining IT systems.
- Experience managing AWS cloud infrastructure andrelated processes, especially in a DevOps environment.
- Hands-on experience with the AWS suite, including ECR.
- Experience with Terraform and Ansible.
- Proficiency with the Linux/Unix command line andscripting (Bash, shell, and/or Python).
- Experience providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 support acrossclient, server, storage, network, and mobile devices.
- Ability to work onsite at Fort Meade, MD.
Desired Skills
- Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).
- AWS certification, such as AWS Certified SysOpsAdministrator or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
- CompTIA Security+ or another DoD 8140-alignedcertification.
