BizFirst is assisting our clientwith recruiting a skilled and experienced Systems Engineer. This positionsupports the following program: a signals intelligence (SIGINT) mission supportprogram that provides collection systems engineering, target development,analysis, reporting, and mission software development for an IntelligenceCommunity customer. The position is onsite at Fort Meade, MD, on a shiftschedule, and the role is open now for an immediate start.
Our client is a Service-DisabledVeteran-Owned Small Business that has supported U.S. defense and intelligencemissions since 2012. Its systems, software, and data science engineers workside by side with government teams to model, design, integrate, and deploycomplex mission systems, and the company also builds rugged RF hardware forspecialized SIGINT applications. Led by a U.S. Navy veteran with more than 30years of DoD mission experience, the company supports programs alongside manyof the largest national security integrators and has a long-establishedpresence in Maryland near Fort Meade.
What will you do
Keep mission-essential systemsrunning for an intelligence mission team. In this help desk and systems supportrole, you will maintain computers and networks, keep front-end systems(including survey systems) configured and performing, and optimize systems thatcarry advanced data and voice technologies over IP. You will troubleshootissues using standard operating procedures (SOPs), update documentation assystems change, and support data flows and secure network policies. The roleruns on a shift schedule and suits a Linux-savvy systems engineer who likesbeing the person mission users count on.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain computers and networks so front-end missionsystems keep performing.
- Configure and maintain front-end systems, includingsurvey systems.
- Optimize and maintain systems that support advanceddata and voice technologies over IP.
- Provide mission-essential help desk support andtroubleshoot system and network issues.
- Follow SOPs and update documentation to reflect systemchanges and fixes.
- Support data flows, including Apache NiFi workflows,and apply secure network policies.
- Write shell, Bash, or Python scripts to automateroutine support tasks.
- Work a shift schedule to provide consistent missioncoverage.
Requirements:
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, ComputerScience, Information Systems, Engineering Science, or Engineering Managementand seven (7) years of systems engineering experience. Twelve (12) years ofsystems engineering experience may substitute for the degree.
- Experience optimizing and maintaining systems thatsupport advanced data and voice technologies over IP.
- Troubleshooting experience and the ability to followSOPs and update documentation accordingly.
- Experience configuring and maintaining front-endsystems, including survey systems.
- Experience with data flows and secure network policies.
- Proficiency with the Linux/Unix command line andscripting (Bash, shell, and/or Python).
- Experience with Apache NiFi.
- Basic knowledge of network protocols.
- Ability to support a shift schedule and work onsite atFort Meade, MD.
Desired Skills
- Experience supporting 24/7 mission operations or anetwork operations center.
- CompTIA Security+ or another DoD 8140-alignedcertification.
- Experience supporting SIGINT collection or processingsystems.
