Your Role
We are looking to hire a hands-on, entrepreneurial AI & Automation Lead. Your mission is to make AI and automation a practical, cost-avoiding part of how every function at AmeriTerpenes works, while helping architect the technical landscape for the future alongside the ongoing IT carve-out project.
- Conduct discovery workshops across HR, Commercial, Operations, QA/QC, Supply Planning and EHS to identify AI and automation opportunities addressing real pain points - manual data entry, repetitive reporting, and disconnected workflows
- Define and prioritize use cases based on business impact, feasibility, and implementation effort, building on initiatives already underway (invoice scanning automation in Procurement, production automation on the plant floor)
- Design and implement automation and AI workflows using tools such as Power Automate and Copilot Studio, including replacing legacy reporting platforms (e.g. MicroStrategy) with modern, self-service alternatives
- Lead the technical architecture for AI adoption across the business, working with Claude and other AI tooling to automate repetitive processes using AmeriTerpenes' research and production data
- Partner with Mutares Group IT and the IT Separation (carve-out) project team to ensure AI and automation initiatives are built into the standalone technical landscape from day one, not bolted on afterward
- Act as the first point of contact for functional leaders who want to explore automating a process, translating business pain points into practical, low-cost technical solutions
Job Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience desired
- At least 3 years of experience designing and implementing AI or automation solutions in a business context, ideally in manufacturing, industrial, or specialty chemicals environments
- Strong, practical understanding of automation platforms (Power Automate, Copilot Studio), machine learning fundamentals, and cloud-based AI tooling
- Comfortable working directly with production and research data, and translating it into automated, repeatable processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with an entrepreneurial mindset and a genuinely hands-on approach - this is a build-it-yourself role, not a strategy-only role
- Based at or able to regularly travel to the Jacksonville, FL and Colonels Island, GA sites; occasional coordination calls with Mutares Group IT
Come join us and embark on a fascinating journey with AmeriTerpenes.
