Viridian Staffing’s Client is currently seeking a Director of Production & Manufacturing to lead the build-out and day-to-day operations of a startup cannabis manufacturing and processing facility about a 1 hour drive outside of Jacksonville, Florida. 

Founded in 2013, Viridian Staffing (www.viridianstaffing.com) is the premier staffing, recruiting, and HR consulting firm solely dedicated to organizations in and supporting the commercial, medical, and industrial cannabis / hemp industry.

You will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of a regulated cannabis manufacturing and fulfillment facility, overseeing extraction, kitchen operations, production, packaging, fulfillment, and distribution This is a true startup environment, where you will play a critical role in building processes, systems, and teams from the ground up. You will oversee scheduling, safety, administration, supply chain, quality, production, maintenance, and logistics, ensuring that all operations remain compliant with state regulations, GMP standards, and internal SOPs. You will also be responsible for managing inventory and dispatch operations, implementing inventory control procedures, and optimizing workflows to maintain accurate inventory levels and minimize discrepancies. This role will partner closely with cultivation and testing teams to ensure a seamless transition from post-harvest material into finished products, including everything from pre-rolls to edibles. 

In this role, you will build and lead the production team, requiring strong people management experience and the ability to develop talent in a fast-paced, evolving environment. The ideal candidate brings at least 3+ years of experience managing a production or manufacturing operation, including 2+ years of direct people management experience. Experience in a regulated environment such as cannabis, hemp, food production, or pharmaceuticals is required, along with a strong understanding of GMP, FDA guidelines, and compliance requirements. Familiarity with cannabis traceability systems, inventory management, ERP systems, and production scheduling is highly desired. Cannabis experience is preferred, and candidates with both cannabis and food-grade production experience are strongly encouraged to apply. A Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred.

You are comfortable wearing multiple hats, building structure where none exists, and ensuring operations are successful in the early stages. Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills are required, along with the ability to explain complex processes to non-technical stakeholders and contribute to the long-term success of the organization.


Compensation: $75,000 – $120,000 + PTO
Travel: Minimal, as needed
