Description

Hubbard House seeks an experienced Major Gifts Officer to support the agency’s fundraising goals and long-term sustainability. The Major Gifts Officer will manage a portfolio of approximately 75–125 individual donors and prospects, building and advancing relationships through identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.


The Major Gifts Officer will work closely with staff leadership and the development team to strengthen donor engagement and increase philanthropic support. This role is responsible for developing and implementing individualized donor strategies, conducting regular and meaningful donor outreach and meetings, and building a pipeline of major gift opportunities to support revenue goals.


The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of experience in fundraising or a related field, with demonstrated success managing a portfolio of donors and personally soliciting major gifts. Experience securing gifts of $10,000+ and managing donor relationships through the full lifecycle (qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship) is strongly preferred. Major gift, planned giving, and/or campaign experience is a plus.


Hubbard House was founded as the first domestic violence shelter in Florida and is the certified domestic violence center serving Duval and Baker counties in Northeast Florida. Hubbard House has nearly 50 years of experience serving victims of domestic violence through residential and outreach programs. The organization has an annual operating budget of $9 million and a healthy endowment. Hubbard House serves approximately 5,000 women, children, and men each year.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree required. Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in fundraising, major gifts, development, or a related field required. Demonstrated success in cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major donors is strongly preferred.


Experience with donor databases required; experience with Blackbaud’s The Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM preferred. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office required.


Experience in nonprofit organizations, particularly in domestic violence, sexual assault, or social services, is a plus. Must be able to read, write, and speak English; bilingual capabilities are a plus.
