Dark Matter Technologies seeks a Staff Software Engineer to develop new features and functionality as part of a team working on a serverless based, distributed, cloud-native application. Dark Matter utilizes AWS for hosting applications and is looking for a developer who can learn and leverage the best tools for the job. Security is a core part of the development process and critical to the success of the developer in this role.Â

SummaryÂ
The Staff Software Engineer will:Â
Write code and develop software applications (cloud and/or in-house), based on requirements, using programming languages, platforms, frameworks, and tools to create functional and efficient applications. Â
Analyze user requirements, develop software solutions, and ensure the applications are robust and efficient. Â
Perform rigorous testing to identify and fix any bugs or errors, including unit testing, integration testing, and debugging to ensure the software meets quality standards. Â
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and quality assurance professionals, to ensure the software meets user requirements and is delivered on time. Â
Update existing software applications to enhance functionality, fix issues, and incorporate new features, including troubleshooting, patching, and ensuring the software remains up-to-date. Â
Document the software development process, including code documentation, user manuals, and technical specifications to assist in knowledge transfer and future maintenance of the software.Â

Design, iterate and develop new product featuresÂ
Build secure software from the beginning and always implementing least privilegeÂ
Collaborate with dev, qa, product and architecture teams on developing and delivering product enhancements on a regular cadenceÂ
Take ownership of quality and delivery of softwareÂ
Create automated tests to validate product functionalityÂ
Identify opportunities for improvement in both processes and codeÂ

What we're looking forÂ
- 5+ years' experience professional developmentÂ
- Experience in AWS using CloudFront, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, VPC, APIÂ GatewayÂ
- Node JS/TSÂ
- PythonÂ
- Angular and/or general web developmentÂ
-  Experience testing with tools like Jest or KarmaÂ
-  Experience building http-based APIsÂ
-  Experience researching and recommending innovative technologies and tools that align with business requirements and deliver value to customersÂ
-  Desire to build intuitive and easy-to-use user interfacesÂ
-  Capability to troubleshoot distributed systemsÂ
- Desire to implement observability and support into the platformÂ
-  Knowledge of Azure DevOps build and deployment pipelinesÂ
-  Knowledge of git for source controlÂ

Salary Range:
The estimated base salary range for this role is USD$131,400.00 - USD$160,600.00 per year.
