Responsibilities
- Analyze and verify eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions to ensure accuracy before fabrication.
- Assist customers in selecting appropriate frames and lenses based on their prescription, facial structure, and personal style preferences.
- Operate advanced optical equipment to measure pupillary distance, segment height, and other critical parameters for lens manufacturing.
- Perform adjustments and repairs on eyewear to ensure a comfortable and secure fit for the wearer.
- Educate patients on proper lens care, maintenance, and the benefits of various optical technologies.
- Collaborate with optometrists and ophthalmologists to support comprehensive eye examination processes.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels of frames, lenses, and optical supplies while managing order fulfillment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory standards specific to the Health Care industry.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Optician or in a related optical role within the Health Care sector.
- Valid certification or licensure as an Optician, as required by state or regional regulations.
- Strong understanding of optical principles, lens materials, coatings, and frame construction.
- Proficiency with optical dispensing software and diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to patients.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to precision in measurements and fittings.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
