Campus Security

Job Summary:

The Campus Security will function as a responsible team member with the Residential Life staff, Police Department, and community. Promote Safety / Security on property owned and operated by the university.

Essential Job Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:

• Protect the university property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
• Observe for signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances.
• Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences.
• Report in detail on any suspicious incidents.
• Patrol randomly or regularly the building.
• Monitor and control access at building entrances

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Able to pass a state background check.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Physically able to conduct foot patrols on uneven surfaces, slick or wet surfaces, stairs, rough terrain and in all weather conditions. 
• Perform first aid or CPR, maintain a professional, courteous, and polite demeanor, and perform any additional duties assigned by Lincoln University Police Department and Staff. 
• Be familiar with and carry out emergency evacuation procedures, in coordination with other Residential Life staff.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma / GED OR Equivalent
• Strong working knowledge of security operations, safety practices.

• Excellent surveillance and observation skills.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods.
• Occasional ability to lift, carry, and put away parcels weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Normal physical mobility, which includes movement from place to place on the job taking distance and speed into account.
• Normal physical agility, which includes ability to maneuver body while in place.
• Normal dexterity of hands and fingers; Normal endurance.
• Normal coordination, including eye-hand, hand-foot.
