Boilermaker

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Boilermaker will perform fabrication, welding, repair and installation work on structural and equipment components used in mining and heavy engineering environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Fabricate, assemble and repair steel structures, brackets, guards, chutes, frames and equipment components.

• Perform welding, cutting, grinding and fitting work to approved standards.

• Carry out site repairs and modifications on heavy equipment and project infrastructure.

• Read and interpret fabrication drawings and measurements.

• Inspect completed work for quality, dimensions and weld integrity.

• Support shutdowns, breakdown repairs and planned maintenance activities.

• Maintain safe control of hot-work activities and associated risks.

• Record repair and fabrication work completed.

EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS

• Recognised Boilermaker trade qualification or equivalent proven heavy-fabrication experience.

• Relevant experience in mining, heavy engineering, construction or industrial maintenance.

• Strong welding and fabrication capability.

• Ability to read fabrication drawings and work safely in site environments.

• Medical fitness for operational work.

ADVANTAGEOUS

• Mining / drilling-equipment repair exposure.

• Underground or shutdown-maintenance experience.

• Additional welding certifications.

• Experience fabricating heavy equipment structures and guards.
