Programme Coordinator and Lecturer – Supply Chain and Transport Management

Lyceum College seeks a dedicated andversatile Programme Coordinator and Lecturer to coordinate, teach, and provideacademic leadership in the Higher Certificate in Logistics and Supply ChainPractices and Higher Certificate in Fleet and Transport Management. This roleintegrates academic leadership, programme oversight, curriculum implementationand review, and high-quality teaching to ensure that both qualifications remainacademically sound, industry-relevant, and compliant with regulatory standards.The successful candidate will support student success in a distance learningcontext and uphold the College’s standards of excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the academic and administrativeactivities of the Higher Certificate in Logistics and Supply Chain Practicesand Higher Certificate in Fleet and Transport Management.
  
• Teach and provide academic support in modules aligned withthe incumbent’s disciplinary expertise, and coordinate the appointment andperformance of appropriately qualified module specialists across the programmes.
  
• Coordinate programme and curriculum review andrecommend improvements through the College’s approved academic governance andregulatory processes.
  
• Coordinate assessment development, marking andmoderation processes, including the setting or review of assessments within theincumbent’s area of expertise, and ensure that appropriate independent internaland external moderation is undertaken in accordance with College policy.
  
• Manage Independent Contractors involved in theprogrammes and ensure teaching quality, regulatory alignment, and timelydelivery.
  
• Monitor programme performance, student progression,and retention indicators and implement interventions as required.
  
• Provide academic advising and student support,fostering engagement and success in a distance learning environment.
  
• Contribute to Faculty meetings, committees, andgovernance structures as required.
  
• Participate in academic research, scholarship, andprofessional development activities.
  

RequiredCompetencies

Applicantsmust demonstrate:

• Strong subject-matter expertise in at least one of theprincipal disciplines of logistics, supply chain, fleet or transportmanagement, together with sufficient interdisciplinary understanding tocoordinate both qualifications.
  
• Excellent teaching, facilitation, and presentationskills suited to distance and blended learning. Competence in curriculum development, assessmentdesign, marking, and moderation.
  
• Sound understanding of higher education regulatoryframeworks and quality assurance principles.
  
• Proficiency in using digital learning platforms (includinglearning management systems such as Moodle) and online teaching tools.
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills withattention to academic rigour.
  
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, andstudent-engagement abilities.
  
• Capacity to identify and support at-risk studentsthrough targeted interventions.
  
• Effective time management, organisational, andadministrative skills.

Requirements

MinimumRequirements

• A relevant Master’s degree (NQF Level 9) in LogisticsManagement, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, OperationsManagement, Fleet Management, or a closely related discipline, supported bysufficient prior academic study in one or more of the principal disciplines ofLogistics, Supply Chain, Fleet or Transport Management.
  
•  At least three years’ lecturing experience in highereducation, preferably with programme coordination responsibilities.
  
•   Demonstrable knowledge of the South African highereducation regulatory and quality assurance environment such as CHE, SAQA andDHET.
  
•   Demonstrated capacity to work effectively in adigitally enabled, distance learning environment.
  
•   Experience in assessment design and quality assuranceprocesses.

• Relevant professional or industry experience in logistics, supply-chain, fleet or transport management.
  
• Previous programme coordination experience.
