Pickleball Professional

The Country Club of the South – Job Description

Position Summary

The Pickleball Professional is responsible for the development, promotion, and daily management of the club’s pickleball program. This role delivers exceptional instruction, organizes engaging events, and fosters a welcoming, social, and competitive environment that enhances the overall member experience.

Key Responsibilities

Program Development & Instruction

  • Provide high-quality private and group pickleball instruction for all ages and skill levels
  • Design and implement clinics, leagues, mixers, and instructional programs
  • Develop beginner pathways while maintaining advanced-level programming
  • Promote player development and encourage long-term participation

Member Engagement

  • Create a vibrant and inclusive pickleball community
  • Facilitate social events, round robins, and themed mixers
  • Build strong relationships with members and actively promote participation
  • Assist in onboarding new members into pickleball programming

Operations & Court Management

  • Oversee daily pickleball court scheduling and usage
  • Coordinate with tennis and club management to optimize court allocation
  • Ensure courts and equipment are maintained to club standards
  • Enforce club rules, etiquette, and pace of play

Events & Tournaments

  • Organize internal leagues, club championships, and social events
  • Plan and execute sanctioned and non-sanctioned tournaments
  • Collaborate with other departments for cross-programming opportunities

Retail & Revenue Generation

  • Assist with pro shop merchandising specific to pickleball (paddles, balls, apparel)
  • Drive lesson revenue and program participation
  • Promote clinics, events, and special programming

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Director of Racquets / Tennis staff
  • Support overall racquets programming when needed
  • Participate in club events and interdisciplinary activities

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Pickleball Professional, Instructor, or high-level player
  • Certification from a recognized organization (e.g., USA Pickleball, PPR, or IPTPA preferred)
  • Strong teaching and communication skills
  • Ability to engage members in both social and competitive settings
  • Knowledge of pickleball programming, league formats, and event planning
  • Energetic, professional, and service-oriented demeanor
