JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Board: Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM) required; ABFM or ABIM considered if ED experience
- Licenses: Active TN Medical License, DEA with TN address and schedules 2,2N,3,3N,4,5
- DEA / CDS: DEA with Tennessee address and schedules 2,2N,3,3N,4,5 required
- Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS (if not BC in EM); NRP (if non-ABEM)
- Experience: Residency trained in Emergency Medicine; case logs for last two years required
- Other Qualifications: Preeclampsia-Eclampsia CME required initially and every two years; ECFMG required for foreign graduates; must be supervising physician for NPs and PAs
- Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients presenting to the ED with acute illnesses and injuries.
- Supervise and collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers (NPs and PAs) in the management of ED patients.
- Manage an annual patient volume of approximately 24,000 visits with a 24-hour physician coverage model.
- Perform emergency procedures as required; maintain proficiency in ACLS, ATLS, and PALS as applicable.
- Ensure compliance with all hospital privileging and credentialing requirements, including maintenance of active TN medical license, DEA, and required CME.
