Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Outpatient Physical Therapist (PT) for a 13-week contract assignment in Juneau, Alaska.

This role is ideal for a licensed Physical Therapist with hands-on pediatric experience who is comfortable evaluating and treating children with developmental, neurological, orthopedic, mobility, balance, and functional limitations.

Candidates must hold an active Alaska Physical Therapist license, have current BLS certification, and possess pediatric Physical Therapy experience. The requisition also calls for at least 1 year of outpatient rehabilitation experience.

Key Responsibilities

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Evaluate pediatric patients with developmental, neurological, orthopedic, and mobility-related conditions.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings, functional limitations, and patient goals.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Provide therapeutic exercise, gait training, balance training, neuromuscular re-education, and functional mobility interventions.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assess strength, range of motion, posture, coordination, balance, endurance, and gross motor development.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Provide age-appropriate treatment to improve mobility, independence, and functional participation.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as clinically appropriate.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Educate parents and caregivers regarding home exercise programs, positioning, mobility strategies, and developmental goals.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Recommend appropriate assistive devices, adaptive equipment, or mobility supports when needed.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Collaborate with physicians, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, nurses, educators, and other members of the care team.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and discharge planning.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Follow patient-safety, infection-control, and rehabilitation standards.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Manage an assigned outpatient caseload efficiently while maintaining high-quality patient care.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must have:

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Active Alaska Physical Therapist license

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Pediatric Physical Therapy experience

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Minimum 1 year of outpatient rehabilitation experience

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Valid driver鈥檚 license

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Strong pediatric assessment and treatment-planning skills

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Strong communication and documentation skills

Education Requirements

Candidates must meet one of the following educational pathways:

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Entry-level Master鈥檚 or Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program

OR

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Graduation from an APTA-approved Physical Therapy program at the bachelor鈥檚 or master鈥檚 level, along with sufficient professional experience and continuing education to meet applicable licensure requirements

Schedule Requirements

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Exact daily hours may vary based on patient scheduling and department needs.

Candidates should be comfortable with schedule flexibility throughout the assignment.

Additional Requirements
