Key Responsibilities:

  • Timely and effective repair of plant mechanical systems.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot, repair or replace most if not all of the following items.
  • Piping, fittings, valves, pumps, gear reducers, mechanical and gas seals, steam tracing, steam traps, regulators, actuators, backflow preventers, motors, ancillary devices.
  • Perform basic PM’s such as equipment checklists, lubrication, pressure/vacuum diagnostics, various testing analytics, inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventive maintenance actions.
  • Repair machines, equipment, or structures, using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, hydraulic bearing press, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments.
  • Prompt storage of received stock items and notifying the supervisor when low stock is observed.
  • Maintain a clean work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
  • Perform tasks requiring hot work and vessel entry permits.
  • Stay current on all assigned training modules and must observe all company safety policies and procedures.  
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

              Required

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 3 years of experience working in a trade or are in possession of a trade degree.
  • Pipefitting, millwright, pneumatics, hydraulics, (TIG, MIG, ARC) welding.
  • Must have the ability to use logic, inductive and deductive reasoning.
  • Possess the ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.

Work Environment:

  • Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, caustic and acidic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat.
  • The noise level in the work environment can be loud in some areas of the plant.

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear.
  • Occasionally may need to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
