Position Summary

The Over, Short & Damages Claims Clerk is responsible for managing all non-produce controlled freight discrepancies across all divisions. This role ensures timely and accurate resolution of claims while serving as a key communication link between internal departments and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Process over, short, and damaged freight claims accurately and in a timely manner

• Communicate claim disposition and status updates with vendors, carriers, procurement teams, and warehouse operations

• Monitor and maintain damaged product in designated warehouse “hold” areas across all facilities

• Calculate cost of goods, freight charges, and associated claim expenses

• Ensure all supporting documentation is properly completed and maintained for auditing and dispute resolution purposes

• Enter and update claim data in the Transportation Management System (TMS) to ensure accurate tracking and reporting

• Maintain detailed records of all claims for reporting, analysis, and operational visibility

   

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to process claims accurately and efficiently

• Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Knowledge of transportation, logistics, or freight claims preferred

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Experience with transportation systems or data entry systems is a plus
