POSITION SUMMARY: The Vice President of Community Living provides executive leadership and oversight of all residential services across Behavioral Health Allies (BHA), ensuring high-quality, person-centered, safe, and compliant services for individuals with developmental disabilities.
This role is responsible for operational strategy, program development, regulatory compliance, staffing stability, financial performance, and risk management across all Community Living programs.
The VP of Community Living partners with executive leadership to drive growth, ensure compliance with DMH, DSS, Medicaid, and other regulatory requirements, and build scalable systems that support long-term sustainability and high-quality outcomes.
This position requires strong executive leadership, operational expertise, regulatory knowledge, financial acumen, and the ability to lead complex, high-risk service environments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree required in Social Work, Psychology, Healthcare Administration, or related fieldÂ
• Master’s degree preferredÂ
• 7–10 years of experience in residential services or human servicesÂ
• Minimum of 5 years in senior leadership or operational management rolesÂ
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities required

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Leadership & Strategy
• Lead all Community Living operations across residential programsÂ
• Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with organizational goalsÂ
• Collaborate with executive leadership to drive performance and growthÂ
• Provide oversight of program structure, staffing models, and service deliveryÂ
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
• Ensure compliance with DMH, DSS, Medicaid, and other regulatory bodiesÂ
• Lead preparation for audits, inspections, and licensing reviewsÂ
• Partner with Safety, Risk, and Compliance on investigations, RCAs, and corrective actionsÂ
• Oversee response to incidents, abuse/neglect allegations, and grievancesÂ
• Ensure implementation of corrective actions and systemic improvementsÂ
Quality Assurance & Program Oversight
• Develop and oversee quality assurance systems and performance metricsÂ
• Conduct audits and evaluations of program performanceÂ
• Monitor service quality, safety, and outcomes across all homesÂ
• Implement improvements based on data, trends, and findingsÂ
Staffing & Workforce Management
• Oversee recruitment, retention, and staffing strategiesÂ
• Ensure adequate staffing levels across all programsÂ
• Support leadership development for Program Managers and DirectorsÂ
• Address staffing challenges, performance issues, and turnover risksÂ
• Develop succession planning and leadership pipelinesÂ
Financial Oversight
• Develop and manage Community Living budgetsÂ
• Monitor financial performance including staffing costs, utilization, and expensesÂ
• Conduct variance analysis and implement corrective actionsÂ
• Present financial performance to executive leadershipÂ
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising careÂ
Stakeholder Engagement & Growth
• Build and maintain relationships with families, guardians, and community partnersÂ
• Represent BHA in community forums, advocacy efforts, and partnershipsÂ
• Support referral processes and admission/discharge decisionsÂ
• Identify and lead opportunities for program expansion and growthÂ
Strategic Planning & Expansion
• Lead initiatives to expand residential services and program offeringsÂ
• Identify new opportunities for growth, partnerships, and service linesÂ
• Support research and innovation in residential care modelsÂ
• Provide regular reporting to executive leadership on performance and strategyÂ
Other Duties
• Participate in on-call support for safety and risk-related eventsÂ
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
• Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions

Starting Salary: Our compensation is competitive within the market. The starting rate for this position begins at $115,000 annually, with your final offer based on a combination of your education, relevant experience, and overall qualifications.
