Job Summary
HiTech Solutions and Services Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a motivated Junior System Administrator to join its IT Department. The successful candidate will support server management, user and device administration, deployment activities, and basic DevOps tasks, while working closely with senior team members to ensure smooth and secure daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

Server Management

  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop and server operating systems, hardware, and software applications.
  • Monitor server performance, uptime, storage, and backups; escalate issues to senior team members as needed.
  • Support patching, updates, and routine maintenance of servers during scheduled windows.

User & Device Management

  • Create, manage, and maintain user accounts, permissions, and access rights across systems and applications (Active Directory / Microsoft 365).
  • Manage device provisioning, configuration, and inventory for laptops, desktops, and mobile devices.
  • Assist in onboarding and offboarding processes, including setup and deactivation of IT accounts and equipment.
  • Provide first-level technical support to team members, resolving hardware, software, and network issues.

Deployment

  • Assist in deploying new hardware, software, and system updates across the organization.
  • Support rollout of applications and configuration changes, following established change-management procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of deployments, system configurations, and standard operating procedures.

DevOps Support

  • Assist with basic CI/CD pipeline tasks, build/release support, and version control (e.g., Git) under senior guidance.
  • Support automation of routine administrative tasks using scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, or similar).
  • Help monitor system/application logs and support environments (dev/test/production) coordination.

Network & Security

  • Assist in maintaining network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and Wi-Fi access points.
  • Support the implementation of IT security measures, including antivirus, firewall, and data backup policies.

Vendor & Documentation

  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for hardware/software procurement and repairs, as required.


Requirements

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree (or currently pursuing) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in system administration, IT support, or a similar role.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux operating systems.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN) and troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and standard office software.
  • Basic exposure to DevOps concepts, version control (Git), and scripting for automation.
  • Understanding of basic IT security practices, including antivirus and data backup procedures.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across departments.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and take on additional responsibilities as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or MCSA (or in progress) will be an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) or containerization (Docker) is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a corporate IT environment.
