Field Technician, Traffic Counter

RK&K is seeking motivated individuals to work on a seasonal basis performing traffic data collection activities for a project in North Central WV. This position involves travel on a weekly basis for approximately eight (8) weeks; working alongside a second individual to complete the daily installations, removals, and documentation of the required traffic counting equipment.  This position is performed within close proximity to active vehicular traffic.

Essential Functions

• Perform multiple field tasks involving the placement of hoses and counters throughout the day

Required Education, Skills and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work independently and without onsite supervision
• Must use equipment and tools safely and properly
• Must have a friendly, positive attitude
• Must be very punctual and reliable

Other Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and favorable driving record
• Must be physically able to stand for up to 2 hours at a time and lift up to 30 pounds
• Must be physically able to perform multiple field tasks involving the placement of hoses and counters throughout the day
• Must have reliable transportation; available for occasional overnight travel

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The position regularly works near moving vehicular traffic and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to various weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud. The employee may need to move and lift field equipment and tools as well as stand for extended periods of time. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
