Job Summary

 

This position as a Meter Reader Start requires general knowledge and ability to perform basic construction and utility skills such as, but not limited to, vehicle safety, meter/curb valve turn offs, misc. meter reads, etc. The candidate must be physically able to work outside and be on their feet in all weather conditions. This position has potential for advancement into our Utility program which exists, therefore preference will be given to individuals with basic pipefitting, basic backhoe/trencher operation, working in confined spaces, meter turn on, turn offs, leak investigation, and meter changes experience.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Introduction to GOM, company procedures, tools, employee handbook
  • Use hand tools and operate company vehicle
  • Perform basic construction skills
  • Perform M&R SLIPS and shut offs at meter and to find location of curb valves using map directions 
  • Collections & meter reading routes, & changing out ERT devices

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Good communication skills
  • Computer aptitude

  • Material Handling
  • Must be physically capable of being on your feet and in all weather
  • Must be physically able to lift 50 lbs

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma
  • PA Driver's License
