We are seeking a seasoned Head of Kitchen to spearhead the catering services at a Local Authority primary school in Sutton-in-Ashfield. This role involves managing the kitchen's daily operations, ensuring that nutritious and high-quality meals are consistently provided to students and staff. Responsibilities

Develop, prepare, and serve meals for students and staff.
Oversee and direct the daily functions of the school kitchen.
Lead and support the catering team effectively.
Ensure meals meet high standards of quality and presentation.
Monitor food quality, portion sizes, and presentation.
Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health and safety, and safeguarding protocols.
Manage inventory levels and coordinate ordering as necessary.
Oversee food storage and stock rotation practices.
Keep precise records related to food safety and kitchen operations.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
Optimize kitchen resources and minimize food waste.
Enhance the dining experience for students and staff.

Essential

Requirements

Requirements:

Proven experience in a supervisory catering role.
Valid Food Safety Certificate.
Enhanced DBS Check.
Capability to lead and inspire a small catering team.
Experience in high-volume meal preparation.
Comprehensive knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety regulations.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Ability to work autonomously and exercise initiative.
Dedication to high standards of food quality and customer service.
Dependable, adaptable, and professional demeanor.

Desirable

Experience in a school, educational, or Local Authority catering setting.
Relevant qualifications in catering or professional cookery.
