Job Responsibilities 
1. Participate in the development of automation equipment, assembly machines, tooling and inspection systems for connector manufacturing.
2. Design reliable and cost-effective automation machines, ensuring functionality, manufacturability, maintainability, safety and compliance with production requirements.
3. Develop high-speed terminal stitching and insertion equipment, including terminal feeding, carrier-strip handling, cutting, positioning, insertion-depth control and in-process detection.
4. Perform mechanical design activities, including machine concept development, 3D modelling, engineering drawings, tolerance analysis, mechanism calculations, component selection and design risk assessment.
5. Work closely with Product Design, Process Engineering, Electrical Controls, Manufacturing, Quality and suppliers to define equipment specifications and technical DFM requirements.
6. Lead machine-development projects from concept, fabrication and assembly through debugging, qualification and production handover, ensuring cycle time, yield, capability, reliability, cost and timeline targets are achieved.


Requirement
1. Diploma or Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline.
2. Minimum 8 years of mechanical design or automation machine-development experience, with a strong understanding of machine-design principles.
3. Experience in designing high-speed terminal stitching, gang insertion or connector assembly equipment is strongly preferred.
4. Experience in the connector, electronics, semiconductor or other high-precision manufacturing industry is desirable. Senior/Staff positions require strong technical leadership and complete machine-development life-cycle experience.
5. Proficient in mechanical design, machine mechanisms, material selection, tolerance analysis, and engineering calculations.
6. Proficient with 3D CAD tools such as CREO Direct or SolidWorks. Experience with motion simulation or other CAE tools is an advantage.
7. Familiar with servo motors, pneumatic systems, linear-motion systems, indexing and cam mechanisms, feeders, sensors, machine vision and robotic handling.
8. Knowledge of connector manufacturing processes, including terminal stitching, insertion, assembly, laser welding, inspection, testing, stamping and insert moulding, is preferred.
9. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, project-management and cross-functional communication skills.

Mon to Fri, 8am to 5:45pm
