RBRC is looking for a part-time Activities Assistant.

flexible availability for through the week and weekends. This is only for 16 hours a week.

We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dependable individual who enjoys building meaningful relationships with older adults. The ideal candidate is creative, confident, and enthusiastic about leading resident centered groups programs, 1:1 interactions, and supporting independent recreation pursuits. 

A successful candidate will be sensitive to the needs, interests and abilities of the residents and manage time well to adhere to record keeping requirements. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and works well in a team environment as well as independently. 

Key Responsibilities

*Assist residents with activities for events

* Assist with transporting residents

* Visit assigned residents one to one on a weekly basis.

* Record residents’ participation in activities.

* Assist at mealtimes.

* Accompany residents to off-unit activities

* Lead active, passive or sensory activities with the residents.

* Instruct and supervise volunteers.

* Maintains activity supplies on each floor in a neat and orderly manner;

* Assists in planning facility-wide programs.

* Have ability to manage stress tolerance, pressure and anxiety.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Ability

Preferred knowledge of long term care environment; excellent communication skills; ability to work in a constantly changing environment.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
