The Supervisor EKG Technicians LPN oversees the daily operations of the EKG department, ensuring accurate and timely cardiac testing for patients. The supervisor also collaborates with other healthcare professionals to support efficient workflow and quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

•    Management of Daily Staffing.Ā 
•    Ensures department policies and procedures are being followed.Ā 
•    Department preceptor/assists in orientation of new team members.Ā 
•    Acts as a resource to offer guidance to telemetry technicians for more accurate rhythm interpretation and provide on-the-job training as needed.
•    Assumes the role of the ā€œrunnerā€ for the department (outpatient EKGs after hours), retrieving used discontinued telemetry boxes and terminally cleaning them.
•    Checks and updates/transmits all EKG machines 2-3x during their shift.
•    Ensures correct patient EKG charges.Ā 
•    Assists with maintenance of department equipment and supplies.Ā 
•    Initiates biomed and/or manufacturer repair of Spacelabs monitors, portable EKG machine, and remote telemetry boxes.
•    Relays missing box reports to department director of where box was lost.
•    Reports any team member performance or technical issues to department director/supervisor.Ā 
•    All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience: One (1) year EKG Experience Required
  • Education: LPN Degree
  • License and Certification: LPN
  • Skills and Abilities: effective communication, customer service, direct patient care, interpersonal skills, planning and organization, active listening, attention to detail, and technology and software
