Job Summary/Basic Function:  Adjunct Instructors are hired in a part-time capacity on an as needed basis. These positions are filled prior to or during each semester and are contingent upon the needs of the College.   Brazosport College accepts application materials for pool positions on a continuing basis throughout the year from qualified applicants willing to teach on a part-time basis.   Academic departments will contact potential applicants when there are available openings.     Teaches Physics courses and labs using traditional and alternative delivery methods to assist students to master concepts.  Example courses are: Technical Physics, College Physics, University Physics and associated labs. Demonstrates the ability to work with individuals and students from diverse cultural backgrounds and across a wide range of age groups. Experiences that enhance one’s value to the institution and students Reports to the Division Chair of Mathematics and Sciences and Industrial Process Technology Works with faculty in Physics and Process Technology Departments   College benefits do not accrue with this part-time position.   Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Minimum requirements are a Master’s degree in Physics, Applied Physics, or Astrophysics, or a master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Physics. For Technical Physics (Applied Petrochemical Technology), minimum requirements are:  Associate’s degree in chemical technology and 3 years non-teaching related work experience,  Or Associate’s degree or higher and industry recognized training in chemical technology and three years non-teaching related work experience.  Or Baccalaureate degree in chemical engineering and three years non-teaching related work experience, Or Baccalaureate degree in a closely related field (e.g., chemistry, physics, nuclear engineering, mechanical engineering) and three years non-teaching related work experience.  Special considerations may be given to employment or educational qualifications if Southern Association (SACS) minimum educational credentials are met. Teaching course(s) face-to-face Excellent written and oral communication skills Familiarity with such Technology as Microsoft Office, Zoom, TEAMS, Learning Management Systems, docu-camera, and computers. Shows continued growth in teaching and through training
