Sonic Summary

The job requires a Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) with a minimum of two years of experience in a medical field, preferably in ophthalmology.
Responsibilities include reviewing patient history, performing ophthalmic tests, instilling medications, and maintaining equipment.
The technician will document test results for physician review and may perform additional testing as requested.
Candidates must also possess CPR certification and be able to perform refractions.
The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Description

Responsibilities:

Reviews patients general history form.
Performs a series of ophthalmic tests and documents results for physician review. Performs additional testing as requested by the physician.
Instills medication upon physicians request.
Performs generalized maintenance, cleaning, and basic repair of equipment.
Must be able to perform refractions.

Requirements

Education: Certified as a Technician (COTs) or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COAs) through the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology.

Experience: Two years experience in a medical field. Two years ophthalmology experience preferred.

Other Requirements: CPR certification.
