About the Role:
Tristate Arthritis & Rheumatology is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Insurance/Billing Specialist to join our dedicated team in Crestview Hills, KY. This is a great opportunity to play a vital role in a specialized medical practice, ensuring smooth billing operations and exceptional patient financial experiences. Responsibilities:
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance carriers accurately and in a timely manner
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments
- Review and resolve claim denials, rejections, and appeals
- Post insurance and patient payments, adjustments, and credits to accounts
- Follow up on outstanding accounts receivable and unpaid claims
- Communicate with patients regarding billing inquiries, balances, and payment plans
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, payer policies, and HIPAA regulations
Requirements:
- 1-3 years of experience in medical billing, coding, or insurance verification
- Insurance Billing/Coding certification preferred
- Familiarity with rheumatology, specialty care, or physician office billing preferred
- Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Experience working with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management software
- Strong understanding of insurance payer guidelines, EOBs, and claim adjudication
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability
- Professional, patient-focused communication skills — both written and verbal
- Epic experience preferred.
